Inspired by Music today.

08-when-you-are-a-soldierThis is a song by Steven Curtis Chapman that we rerecorded when I was in Germany with the US Army’s Soldiers Chorus. It was played by the Chorus combo and Captain Keene. I was asked to sing it and I loved it. Melaine has always liked this and so here it is… I hope it has significance to you… it does for us.

  1. Teresa Sordelet says:

I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you sharing that song. I have a son ready to deploy at the first of September on his 2nd tour to Iraq.
Another son is at the naval academy and after graduating will serve in 2010.
The fact that Mélaine likes this song makes it even more special. I hope you don’t mind if I share it with others whom have loved ones currently deployed.

  2. Dan Moyer says:

    Hey Keith,
I just love that recording! Judith just heard it for the first time today. We were both touched to hear your great voice and to hear the lyrics. May you continue to find comfort in Jesus, who is your shield.
    Love and Prayers,

  3. Wendy Abshire says:

  4. Courtney Dorsey says:

Keith, I just wanted to let you that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Please tell Melanie I said hi, and she is a very strong person. If you need anything please let me know.

  5. marie schreiber says:

Absolutely beautiful and comforting. Your voice is strong and faithful. However, our eyes are very wet. Love, Mom and Dad

  6. Gita Vamadevan says:

    Dear Keith
    Beautiful song… absolutely incredible voice….
    So meaningful…

We are thinking of you all and praying for Melaine…
Big hug to my dear friend Melaine…

    Love to all

  7. Angie Springer says:

The song is beautiful and touched me deeply. It is definitely a tribute to Melaine as a “soldier” against a very resistant enemy . But she is a very worthy opponent with an army of faithful praying for her victory. You, Melaine, and your beautiful son are in my thoughts and prayers. I not only have the privilege of being a co-worker of Melaine’s but also had the experience of being her student last fall. Tell her that we are all here waiting for her and praying for her recovery.
    With thoughts and prayers,
    Angie (USF)
